1969 Porsche 911T

1969 Porsche 911T

Description

The first generation of the venerated Porsche 911 had a production run from 1963 – 1969.  The consistent evolution that has remained the hallmark of the line saw an increase of the engine size and power, addition of the Targa Top in ’67 and finally, as displayed in this example, the increase of the wheelbase from 87 to 89.3 inches to help stabilize twitchiness at the limit.

The vehicle presented here in its original Bahama Yellow over Black Leatherette is a perfect example of a true survivor. It is complete, unrestored and unmolested in every way. From its original delivery in Austria in late 1969, the documentation of this 2-owner car, including the original CoA from Porsche, has been extensive. All parts replaced over the years on this 62,000 mile classic have been with original Porsche parts and the story of its service history is fully documented.

From the exterior, the vehicle is exquisite.  Paint is flawless, stainless and chrome are all in wonderful condition with no pits, dents or gouges.  The glass is completely original, and lenses and lamps are marked as original or NOS.  Owner indicates that the grill on the bonnet shows a slight wave with no kinking that was chosen not to be corrected.

The interior presents in pristine condition with little wear to the 2+2 leatherette seating surfaced. Rugs, liners, and Targa are all original to the car and are also in tip top condition for any car, let alone one with over 50 summers of use.  Owner indicates that the passenger door compartment trim is slightly bent from a coat catching on it.  All dials, gauges, and controls and lighting are original and function as new.

The current owner indicates that in addition to a recent service and tire replacement, the original 2.0L 130hp flat-6 engine has been thoroughly scoped and oil has passed analysis. The 50-year young mill is in exceptional condition with only a light patina as would be expected on raw alloy components. The engine is mated to its numbers matching 5-speed “Type 901” transmission that delivers power to the new rubber through its original Fuchs alloy wheel.  The owner indicates that all consumables and replacements parts are documented as OEM or NOS.
